Been on a nostalgia trip over the past week and came across some images that brought happy times to the fore.  As always I try to portray these as Art and the first is when we visited Regensburg in Germany.  One of those marvellous “old world” places with wonderful buildings and culture still much in evidence.

Then out of the box of photographs popped up this  great memory – the Tango!  Here the accordionist plays to accompany some dancers managing the classic Buenos Aires Tango – a most wonderful and fluid of dances and so unlike the travesty of the ballroom.

Tango colours & music!

Wonderful compilation of colours and dare I say “sounds” of the Tango run around my head when I see this.  As I painted the scene it was all I could do not to swivel and glide, flick the leg back and slide step – Wow – memories indeed.

More memories as yet another gem comes out of the old box – Fiakers!  No not an exclamation but the the horse drawn carriage drivers of yet another wonderful city – Vienna.  Here a colour painting impression with hints of that classical style.

Fiakers, Vienna.

Well that’s it for another delve into the “trunk” in the attic.  In fact that might be a good title for future memory lane image posts.  Perhaps I can call future posts  “Memories from the attic”  or something along those lines  - sounds good.

Till next time.
