A photographer friend just the other day posted up a super picture of a young Red Panda and as usual I could not resist trying out some artwork on the image.
My friend PedroEric kindly allows me to use his pictures for a bit of fun and I sometimes try out different effects and so on, on the images basically for personal fun – on one of the forums I’m in and occasionally as now on my little web site.
Being a wonderfully delicate sort of creature – this is the result.
Great fun to do and the result is pleasing to me, so a success indeed. The colour photograph reduced down to a basic sketch outline, then some added colouration. Saved then reworked with a textured canvas background and re-saved. Both images then merged with brushwork added here and there and the final work framed and signed. Quite simple really but effective.
Whilst I have quite a library of excellent photographs and indeed art work paintings and sketches of Panda – you simply can’t get enough of these beautiful guys. Isn’t the world a wonderful place!
