In the last post I showed a computer generated progression or “transformation” of a photograph to an Art painting style illustration. Whilst the finished image was fairly removed from the original photograph, it was still very much a pictorial as opposed to out and out Art painting.
So using that final image I’ve worked on it a little bit more and this is the first version – Art painting.

Much more of an artistic licence here and a far higher percentage of the photographic details have been removed, ignored and altered to suit the artist’s impressions of the scene.
Whereas in a photograph the viewer may have to get closer to see the detail, the reverse is true of an Art work such as this. In this instance the viewer should get further from the image to allow his senses to “fill in” what the artist has alluded to, but not visually put in, to the image.
There are other versions of this scene which are more Art than pictorial and may follow in future posts.
