I love big cats and this is one of my favourites – a Leopard.

From a photograph originally and with some computer work applied.
Simulated canvas background and added paint effects throughout make for quite a presentable animal portrait.  Finally a simulated frame effect was added using three separate frames – the white one at two different sizes and the final one reduced to a small width for proportion.

The art application process was relatively simple.

Big Cat

First the photo image was copied (separate layer) as a basic black and white sketch and a canvas background applied.  This was saved.  The original photo image was copied again with a filter applied this time which reduced the detail and only showed block colours.  This was saved.

Using the resultant layer images I then merged them using erase control as the merge tool and applied what I required as the basis for the final image.  This was copied again and a new manipulation set applied.  This added another art dimension to the image which was then finally merged to the previous layer.  Contrast, luminance, brightness, clarity and a few other parameters were altered to achieve the result shown here.

Finally a frame arrangement was added.
