From a black and white photograph a painted image with computer brush strokes. This a rainy scene in Berlin with the horse and carriage as the subject.
Colour added using the monochrome shades as a guide as to strength, contrast and shadow, added software filters and finished with a painter frame using a blur effect background of the same image.
Touches of white in the background of the image lightens the overall image slightly and also gives the impression of distance with the buildings outlined in a fainter hue.

I am in the process of doing another version of this original which will try to boost the dramatic aspect of what was a quite powerful black and white photograph. Hope to post it soon.
