Feeling better today and thought I’d try my hand at making a couple of Art images from a friend’s photographs. PerdoEric manages to capture amazing images with his camera and are ideal candidates for conversion or manipulating into art style images. Having no commercial interests whatsoever myself, he very kindly allows me and others of my group who are similarly like minded to “art” away to our hearts content. I’m sure I speak for all of us in saying we are very grateful and it gives me certainly a great deal of pleasure.
The first one I show here is from an original “Pedro” photograph of a Mandarin Duck – I hope this does it justice.

The second one I decided to manage in a different and more complicated “paint” style and used much stronger colors but tried to keep the picture from becoming too hard. Used various techniques on this one and many layers with quite a bit of individual tweaking on parts of the image to get the effects I wanted.

As I’m feeling a little better at the moment I hope to post a few more pictures over the next week or so – perhaps some new “Pedro” images but also some New York street scenes – a favorite subject of mine – so watch this space. . . .
