My art and graphic friends at Ravens have been playing around with a new plug-in for PaintshopPro – called Fractalius. In the course of just a week or so they’ve been producing amazing and different works which have truly amazed and delighted us all. I too have succumbed to it’s charms and this is the first image I’ve produced. I did it and even I’m impressed!
Started off life as a photograph I took a year or so back in China. A water Lily I think which was in dark water and where I managed to achieve a rather unique light by chance I think and it’s one of my favorite photographs from the trip. Very fitting that when looking for a subject for the Fractalius effect this one should jump out at me as the perfect candidate.
This is the point with Fractalius – the subject has to be just right for the best effects to work. With quite a wide choice and infinitely adjustable algorithms in the plug-in it really is quite exciting finding new ideas of expression. This in fact was one of the more simply settings, but again it’s the subject that made it work.
I can certainly see myself managing a few more. . .
