Blue shutters, quaint streets and town scenes of the south of France – always inspirational to me. . . . the wonderful light in this part of the world a mecca for artists and photographers alike.
This a framed version of an original photograph to art transformation of part of the Forum Square in the town of Arles.
This unframed “paint” is in the same Square – the colors are so bright in the sun here that artificial or computer induced saturation is simply not required – the images make the painting easy.
A street lamp detail -
The three images here are part of a series of paintings of twenty or more I am working on at the moment and all from the Provence region, generally following the Rhone from Arles to Lyon, Chalon Sur Saone, Beaune, Viviers and beyond.
I hope to post more of these in the coming days and weeks if I’m able.
