Stylized color pencil drawing to a heavy art paper base in a rather frenetic scribble method which works extremely well for all sorts of subjects. I think it gives this one lots of life and vitality.
Happy times
Been experimenting with this sketch system for a little while now and just getting to grips with it and using the color pencil idea is great fun. Incidentally I have boxes of them and most hardly ever used as I was for some time a bit of a purist and if it was a sketch – it had to be monochrome. A bit like my brother who in his day a very well regarded photographer, but he was almost fixated with black and white. He always insisted that b&w was the best medium and of course I always disagreed. I mean we interpret images in color from the cradle to the grave, so why take away the subliminal emotional aspect of what we see, BUT oddly enough when sketching I always simply used a black pencil – isn’t life odd!
Anyway on occasion color pencils were brought to bear and this one is an interpretation of just that and I really I like it – so watch this space – I might do more!
i really love the effect of this! the colours and style make it really vibrant and nice to look at! im the same i always draw monochrome, but thats from fear of using colours, i feel it puts a lot more pressure on me! but anyway really great drawing
