Another of my favorite cats – the Snow Leopard.
Smaller than some at around 120lbs (big enough I’d say!) it is nevertheless a superb looking wild cat. With it’s rosettes of gray and yellow patches here and there, plus the whiter underparts and very heavy coat and luscious tail it is a beautiful sight indeed. The tail in fact is extremely heavy and covered in dense fur and when sleeping is used like a scarf around it’s face to keep warm – what a sensible cat!
Snow Leopards are very elusive and go about their business virtually unseen and mostly undisturbed by humans. Fortunately I’m very glad to say, the Snow Leopard prefers to live and roam the high ground and mountain ranges, so rarely comes into conflict with humans, unlike the Tiger in India (hunted) or the Jaguar in Brazil (hunted and habitat destroyed) and long may it continue.
This is a color pastel pencil sketch style illustration to drawing paper media – produced initially from an original photograph by a photographer friend of mine with my thanks.

Nice!
