Some Art images of a visit to Paris some time ago and not of the usual tourist sites, but just a few of the streets. Unfortunately did not have the time to manage this as a project, but I am sure I will do just that next time I’m there. So these are really just random pictures and if you like, perhaps a taste of what’s to come.
A painting representation of a street junction somewhere in my wanderings in the City. I just love the spontaneous life of the instant sketch which as a photograph just doesn’t evoke enough atmosphere for me, hence the addition of paint either oil or watercolor. Seems to give action and vitality with the slightly saturated color and the paint and canvas texture adding even more.
This first image was in the very early morning sun and hence the lack of detail as the low light made it tricky to see the buildings clearly.
Much stronger and more detailed picture this time and adding an impressionistic touch with the blue shadow areas in the foreground. Again an image that tries to demonstrate movement, which is what a City such as Paris is all bout.
Used this one as an illustration for an article and managed it in a very commercial and illustrative style. Quite a lot of details included in what my old art master described as “pictorial” but without being photographic. Again I enhanced and exaggerated the tones to give some life to the finished piece.
Once again I have changed the header to accompany the post – a color illustration of the Eiffel Tower, which I actually started on a night cruise boat on the Seine River and which started almost below the Tower itself. It was lit up and quite wonderful to see in that way.
I obviously would love to visit again and sometime soon I hope!
