Whilst architectural aspects of buildings in cities have always been an interest both photographically and Art wise, I also have a passion for Wildlife. Birds for example are a favorite and many of those I can see from my kitchen window though some might require a little further travel.
Here are two that are miles apart and I mean lots of miles.
Managed in a heavy color brush style, this is a European Sparrowhawk and quite a regular visitor to my garden. Beautiful coloration which I have accentuated as I tend to do, to bring it out from the woodland dark trees behind.
Then a long way from my garden is this wonderful bird – a snake Eagle I think they call it in India where this was found.
I confess I’m not really sure, but certainly one of the many predators in the Indian area I’m sure. Maybe more akin to a Falcon or Falconnet as it wasn’t too large a bird. Great fun to capture and one day I’ll really have to try and identify many of the pictures and illustrations I have managed over the years.
It certainly does show the sheer amount of traveling I’ve done I suppose as you jump from continent to continent. I just wish it was as easy as these birds seem to find it – and cheaper too!
I have some other ones in my folders and I’ll probably post them sometime in the future if I find them. After I find out what they are!

How beautiful! How bold. I love the feel, the stillness in the eyes of the birds in these paintings.
Many thanks for your comment – appreciated. Perhaps one of the reasons I love these “predators” is that very stillness.
The perfect Artists subject – the sitter who actually sits still!
