There’s always something about the old vase of flowers subject, so beloved by Artists since I don’t know when and still one of the most difficult to do well. It should really be quite simple and perhaps it is but it’s always tricky to get just right.

Very classical style for the above effort which is following lots of rules and so on, but I much prefer the free flowing “feel” painting where you let the colors flow such as the following ones.
